Architect’s Dwelling Near Donegal Town, Co. Donegal

Built on the footprint of an existing derelict cottage, this site had the advantage and privacy of a mature surrounding treescape. The brief was for a traditional single storey home, which utilises modern technology and incorporates four bedrooms, and an open plan kitchen, dining, and living room.

Roof barges, deep wall sections and timber sliding sash windows complement the historical form of the building, while high levels of insulation, solar panels for hot water, and a heat pump system fulfil the technological requirements.
